Wellness and the Weather Seminar with Anthony Farnell

The weather really does affect our moods and health as dramatically as it can affect our roads.

Everyone has noticed it to some degree throughout their lives. People living in hot climates with the sun shining most of the time notice an energy level entirely different from those living further north. Even people just visiting climates completely different from their own are often taken aback by the vast differences in the general attitude of locals compared to that of people back home.  As Canadians, while we are privileged to experience a vastly different climate from one season to the next, it doesn't come without the physical and emotional effects of a changing climate.

Well known for his appearances on Global News as the Chief Meteorologist, Anthony Farnell was invited to Delmanor Northtown for a seminar about wellness and weather. Anthony Farnell is the meteorologist for the News Hour at 6pm and News Hour Final, the GTA's only one hour local newscast at 11pm.

He spoke about his job as a Meteorologist, the impact weather has on our health and about exciting current weather events and trends.

Anthony was honoured to meet Delmanor Northtown resident, Howard.  Howard was the former Assistant Deputy Minister in charge of National Meteorological Services and Director - General Chief Spokesman for Environment Canada in Ontario.  The common passion and conversations shared about weather and meteorology between Anthony and Howard were fascinating to listen to.  Anthony brought along his very popular pooch, Storm, the weather dog, for a special cameo appearance at Delmanor Northtown much to the delight of the residents.

The seniors really enjoyed the enthusiasm for weather and forecasting from Anthony and learning about how weather truly does affect our health.
