Delmanor Wynford Residents Celebrate a Taste of Japan

Delmanor Wynford hosts a monthly Elegant Candlelight Dinner for residents to enjoy. The Japan theme allowed the seniors to dress in kimonos while delighting in traditional Japanese food and beverages.

The entertainment for the event was provided by the talents of Yoshi & Chie. This duo provided traditional Japanese music using the shamisen, sitar and the didgeridoo.


The talented Delmanor Wynford Chefs prepared an elegant meal, comprised of Teriyaki Salmon with Udom Noodles, as well as Chicken & Shrimp Curry with Japanese Bok Choy. For dessert, the seniors were indulged with Coconut & Mango Ice Cream with Poky Sticks.

The Delmanor retirement Community was bursting with fun & laughter as the seniors celebrated Japanese culture through food, drink & entertainment.

Delmanor Northtown Celebrates Cinco de Mayo

In Mexico or wherever the culture of Mexico is celebrated — families, friends and neighbours gather to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. This event was celebrated at Delmanor Northtown as residents and staff became Mexican for a day! Delmanor Northtown was decorated with Mexican green, white & red and was alive with music and fun.





The day included fantastic entertainment by a very talented and authentic Mariachi band and a Mexican themed lunch, prepared by the Delmanor Northtown chefs.



It was a wonderful opportunity for the seniors to celebrate Mexican heritage and pride, wear a sombrero and have a fiesta!

Delmanor Glen Abbey Pays Tribute to All Mothers with a Vintage Hat Show for Mother's Day

In keeping with the Royal Wedding theme, staff and residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey took part in a Vintage Hat Show to showcase many of the beautiful hats of years gone by.

The seniors were able to try on these elegant pieces of art while enjoying scrumptios desserts & tea. Norma Shephard presented this show to the retirement community to the delight of all in attendance.

Delmanor Wynford Residents, Staff & Families Walk for the MS Society

Delmanor Wynford residents recently visited Sunnybrook Park for their annual MS Walk to help individuals with Multiple Sclerosis.

The Delmanor Team, proudly known as the "Wynford Whipper Snappers" collected donations from family, friends, residents & community organizations throughout the months past couple of months. The Wynford team gathered at the Delmanor retirement community bright and early in preparation for the 10km walk/run. By 10:00am theWynford Whipper Snappers were ready to begin their walk in support of the MS Society.



Despite the inclement weather, the determined seniors pushed on and completed their 10km walk through the wind and rain. With all of the combined efforts, the seniors of Delmanor Wynford helped to raise over $600,000 in support of individuals with MS.

Delmanor Glen Abbey Residents Attend Wine Tasting

Residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey were treated to a wine tasting event compliments of Churchill Cellars.

Twice each month, Churchill Cellars Ltd. publishes a newsletter called The Imbiber's Report. It features information about their new Vintages products, recent media reviews, special offers (such as Limited Time Offers, exclusive tastings, Events and Bonus Air Miles), consignment wines and general news. The Delmanor seniors were given a first hand look at Churchill Cellars and their extensive products available.



The wine selections for the event were elegantly displayed and the seniors were delighted to sample the bursting flavour of the wine collection.

Glen Abbey Residents Celebrate The Royal Wedding

The residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey rose with the sun on April 29th to celebrate the wedding of William & Kate. Twenty-seven seniors set their alarm clocks early to attend the 6am Royal Breakfast. Mimosa was served with English muffins, crumpets, sausages and fruit salad; and what royal breakfast would be complete without tea served in elegant royal china?

The wedding breakfast was held in Delmanor Glen Abbey's Player's Lounge that was adorned with toulle and wedding bells. The tables were dressed with crisp white linens along with beautiful centre pieces. All of the seniors that attended the event received a royal thank you gift of Scots mints, and a treasured memory.

Delmanor Elgin Mills Celebrate The Royal Wedding

The wedding that was watched around the world, was transformed into an entire day event at Delmanor Elgin Mills, as residents & staff celebrated the wedding of Prince William & Kate Middleton.



April 29th will not only be remembered as the day that history was made with the Royal Wedding, but a day that Delmanor Elgin Mills residents were able to dress like royalty and be treated like Kings & Queens. The seniors were up early to take in the wedding live on the big screen TV in the theatre. They were encouraged to bring in their own wedding photos in the weeks prior that were displayed around the retirement residence for everyone to enjoy.

When the big day arrived, the residents, dressed in their tiaras and crowns, enjoyed a royal wedding cake made by the talented Delmanor Elgin Mills Chefs. Overall, it was a very majestic day that was enjoyed by all and will certainly not be forgotten.
