Robbie Burns Day Celebrations Continue at Delmanor Northtown!

Residents of Delmanor Northtown were given the opportunity to celebrate and honour Scotland's famous poet Robbie Burns with a fun afternoon of dining and entertainment.

The seniors enjoyed the Scottish songs that were performed by their beloved entertainer Ken Jones.  Everyone in attendance was thrilled when the especial guest performer on bag pipes arrived.  Willowdale MP Chungsen Leung delighted the seniors with his amazing talent on bag pipes.

Robbie Burns Day Celebration at Delmanor Elgin Mills

Residents of Delmanor Elgin Mills and guests from the Richmond Hill community spent an entire afternoon dancing, singing and feasting as the retirement residence celebrated Robbie Burns Day.

The celebration featured a bag piper and traditional Scottish country dancers, the "Celtic Connections".

The menu included fresh baked biscuits, shortbread cookies and of course, Scottish haggis.

The guests enjoyed the traditional "address to the haggis" as it was paraded throughout the dining room and then sliced with a dagger!

Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time celebrating the life and times of the famous poet.

Physiotherapy and Wellness at Delmanor Glen Abbey

Delmanor Glen Abbey provides many services to the residents of their retirement community.  One of the most beneficial services that it provides to the seniors is physiotherapy treatments within Delmanor Glen Abbey itself.

In addition to specific exercise classes for osteoporosis prevention and arthritis treatment, Carol, the Delmanor Glen Abbey physiotherapist provides the residents with treatments in the the physiotherapy room at Delmanor Glen Abbey.

The seniors are offered hands on treatment during the three sessions available per week that add to their overall health and well being.

Delmanor Northtown Celebrates...... Italian Style!

Residents and guests of Delmanor Northtown were treated to a beautiful Italian themed evening including a menu that was inspired by Italy and designed by Chef Divakar.

The meal included such delicacies as lobster stuffed ravioli and chicken parmesan.  The delightful meal was complimented by traditional Italian music, including a live accordion player that took personal requests as he strolled through the dining room.

The seniors were further spoiled when the dessert course was set forth, including tiramisu cake and chocolate tartufo ice cream garnished with fresh whipped cream and raspberries with an Italian flag tooth pick topper!

Residents and guests of Delmanor Northtown were invited to listen to the stories behind the pictures of award winning photographer Peter Bregg following his forty years of photo journalism experience.



Internationally-renowned photojournalist Peter Bregg has travelled to more than 75 countries and captured some of the world’s most compelling stories with his camera. Prior to his recent post as photo editor at HELLO! Magazine, Mr. Bregg served as chief photographer at Maclean’s for 17 years. He has also worked as a photographer and editor with the Canadian Press and the Associated Press in London , New York , and Washington , DC , and was the official photographer to Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

His assignments have included eight Olympic Games, Stanley Cups, World Series, Presidential trips, Vietnam in 1973, the Iran hostage crisis, the Solidarity movement in Poland, He was also in New York to cover the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and is an active member of PhotoSensitive in Africa.

Following the presentation, a fine assortment of desserts and refreshments were served while the seniors discussed Peter Bregg and his many outstanding accomplishments.

Delmanor Glen Abbey Residents Enjoy Wii Bowling!

The seniors of Delmanor Glen Abbey took bowling to a new level as they exercised and had a great time playing a Wii interactive video game system.

Technology and fun together bridge generations and allows young people and grandparents a platform to play together with unlimited possibilities.

The Delmanor LivingWell Coach helped the seniors to get the hang of the system and then they were on their way having a wonderful time playing interactive virtual bowling.

Delmanor Elgin Mills Celebrates a New Year!

Residents and community members joined together for a New Year celebration with guitarist and vocalist Marc Ballesteros.  The seniors sang holiday songs and toasted to a prosperous 2012 with champagne and strawberries.



The fun and festivities carried on long into the new year for the residents that didn't want the celebration with friends to come to an end.
