International Day at Delmanor Elgin Mills!

With the excitement of the PanAm Games in Toronto, the residents and staff of Delmanor Elgin Mills have been celebrating multiculturalism.

The Elgin Mills team members were invited to set up a display of items such as food, flags, music and costumes that represented their own cultural background. Residents were then given the opportunity to visit each of the displays, sample foods, & learn more about the Delmanor Elgin Mills team members that work to make their home the best possible each and everyday.

 The various displays encouraged many discussions between residents and with staff, as they reminisced about places they have visited over the course of their lives.  The countries on display were Canada, Vietnam, Israel, Scotland, England, Poland and China.  The team members did an excellent job of displaying multiculturalism in their own unique environment.  Some of the most popular food samples that were prepared for the event were the maple syrup display, bangers and mash, poutine and hummus.

Celebrating individual cultures and traditions is what makes Toronto a very unique city.  Delmanor Elgin Mills was happy to represent this within their own community.  It was a very informative and enjoyable event for all!

Summer BBQ Fun at Delmanor Wynford

The residents and team members of Delmanor Wynford had a wonderful summer time BBQ celebration in honour of Canada Day.

The weather and atmosphere were absolutely perfect for the fantastic food and excellent music that accompanied the BBQ party event.

Canadian Classics were performed by a local talented fiddler, while the Wynford seniors embraced the beauty of the season and our country.

Delmanor Wynford's 5th Anniversary Celebration!

The 5th Anniversary Celebration event was an example of why Delmanor Wynford is at the center of style and elegance in the GTA.   Residents, team members, and invited guests came together to celebrate the five magnificent years of Delmanor Wynford!

 
Delmanor Seniors Communities Corporate representatives were present to welcome the Wynford residents and team members with a warm introductory ceremony that highlighted the "Founders Club", which is a group of residents who have called Delmanor Wynford home since year one.  Each one of these special residents were recognized and given a beautiful corsage to wear on their lapels.

The devoted 5 year Delmanor Wynford team members were also recognized with a special gift to thank them for their dedication and hard work over the past 5 years.

Everyone was treated to a summertime BBQ luncheon, followed by an abundance of delectable choices at the dessert table.  Lots of fun activities were planned for the day as well.  Some of the highlights  included caricature drawings, and a 'guess the faces of Delmanor Wynford' area that featured wedding and baby photos of Wynford seniors with an opportunity to 'place that face'.

 
Friends and relatives of Delmanor Wynford had a wonderful time celebrating the last 5 years at the prestigious Delmanor Wynford.  Residents enjoyed sharing personal stories and funny memories, while guests danced to the lovely music provided by the 18 piece Big Band!

The event was truly worthly of Delmanor Wynford's top notch reputation.  This celebration has most certainly left a lasting memory on everyone that was in attendance, and has strengthened the bonds between residents, family members and friends.

A 'Legendary' Fashion Event at Delmanor Glen Abbey

'Scarlet O'Hara', along with her fellow actors, put on a very unique and entertaining fashion show event for the residents and staff of Delmanor Glen Abbey.

The classic movie 'Gone With The Wind', set the stage as the theme for the show.  Nancy MacLeod provided the in-depth commentary that covered highlights from the film.  Nancy shared details about the intricate costumes, as well as behind the scenes activities and details surrounding the stars of the blockbuster movie, including an appearance of none other than Rhett Butler!

Everyone loved this fun and unique show.  Traveling back to the Classic Hollywood era of film brought smiles to every face.  The seniors were even given the opportunity to mingle and ask questions of the actors, while being treated to a lovely & delicious reception.

A Worldly Celebration at Delmanor Elgin Mills

To celebrate the  2015 Toronto PanAm Games, Delmanor Elgin Mills was host to a wonderful variety of exciting entertainment from all over the world!

One of the extraordinary features of the afternoon were fire throwers that amazed the audience with  death defying stunts.  The highlight being performers eating fire!  The action continued with Latin dancers and acrobatic performers that left the residents and guests in awe of their amazing skills!

 The sounds of multi-cultural music filled the air, while participants were given impromptu Spanish lessons and dancing tips from the pros.  Residents,and team members alike were up dancing or feeling the groove in their seats, while hands and arms swayed to the music.

A wonderful summer memory was made for the residents of Delmanor Elgin Mills this day, as well as a special tribute to the 2015 Toronto PanAm Games.  The afternoon was complete when an ice cream truck arrived to offer frosty treats to everyone to cool off after this hot hot hot summertime
event!

Delmanor Sponsors Ladies Combo Five!

Delmanor Seniors Communities are proud sponsors of Willowdale Lawn Bowling Club Tournaments.  A very popular tournament event in the 2015 lineup was the Ladies Combo Five Tournament.

There were 80 ladies that took part in this event.  It consisted of 16 teams, with 5 ladies per team.  The Ladies Combo Five was a very successful lawn bowling tournament that brought bowling enthusiasts together from all over the GTA.

Delmanor Seniors Communities was on hand as a strong supporter of this event.  By sponsoring tournaments for seniors in the community, they are helping to encourage a healthy, active & inspired retirement with all seniors in the GTA.

The weather was absolutely magnificent!  Participants  had a great time bowling at this ladies only tournament, and Delmanor Seniors Communities look forward to being a part of the next Willowdale Lawn Bowling Club Event!

An Evening of Classical Music at Delmanor Northtown

A classical piano performance came to Delmanor Northtown as Shaya Petroff displayed her musical talent for the Northtown residents & staff.

The beautiful Northtown lounge was the perfect setting for this lovely evening of classical piano music, equipped with its very own baby grand piano.  Everyone that had the pleasure of attending this wonderful performance had nothing but fantastic reviews and compliments for Shaya's talent.

The entire audience was captivated by the familiar songs from well-known composers, along with features from some of the most creative times in the history of music!

Milestone Celebrations at Delmanor Glen Abbey

Happiness and cheer filled Delmanor Glen Abbey as friends and family came together to celebrate the wonderful occasion of Mr. Smale's 100th Birthday!

Mr. Smale's daughter Dianne assisted the staff of Delmanor Glen Abbey to host this very special evening for her father.  Guests enjoyed a selection of wine and cheese prior to being treated to a mouth watering 5 star buffet dinner, prepared by the superb culinary talents of the Delmanor Glen Abbey Team.

Mr. Smale, overwhelmed with joy and with tears in his eyes, thanked his family, friends and Delmanor Glen Abbey for making this day so memorable for him.  "I may even stick around and try this again next year", he smirked, as the room broke out in laughter!  It was an exceptionally special celebration for a remarkable gentleman!

Welcoming New Residents to Delmanor Glen Abbey

Delmanor Glen Abbey held a Welcome Wine & Cheese Party to honour those who have recently moved into their new homes.

Live entertainment was provided by Jerry & John, a Glen Abbey favourite, that featured classics from legends such as  'Elvis Presley, Glen Miller, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra'.  With a play list like this, everyone was snapping their fingers and tapping their toes!

A big thank-you went out to Glen Abbey's 'Resident Dance Instructor' Bob, who strutted his stuff and highlighted some of his signature moves throughout the afternoon.  Bob partnered up with Dining Room Manager Leila, Vice President Marketing & Operations, Elaine, and Recreation Assistant, Kris for some wonderful demonstrations on the dance floor!

The New Resident Welcome Party was a wonderful opportunity to introduce and recognize those Glen Abbey residents that are new to the community.  The Welcome Party is just one of the many special events that the Delmanor Glen Abbey team organizes throughout the year to show appreciation for their residents. Everyone had a wonderful time socializing with friends and welcoming new ones.

The Highly Anticipated & Prestigious Grand Opening of Delmanor Prince Edward!

The excitement that surrounded the grand opening of Delmanor Seniors Communities latest property, Delmanor Prince Edward was second only to the grandeur of the evening itself!

Residents, along with their invited guests, joined with community partners, dignitaries and Tridel and Delmanor Management & Team members for this memorable evening.  Guests were treated to a 5-star dining experience that was created by the Prince Edward Exquisite Chef Gaurav.

The over 300 attendees were indulged with the musical masterpiece of Doug Abbott on piano, playing jazz, classical & show tunes, while the Samuel Ronto Trio delighted with cello, violin & viola.

Guests couldn't say enough about the splendour and perfection of the evening.  Every detail was accounted for by the hard working Delmanor Prince Edward team.  Residents felt great pride in being able to showcase their beautiful home to friends and family members in such a memorable way.

The evening was a perfect success!  The opportunity to celebrate and place the outstanding service quality and inspirational retirement living to the forefront was demonstrated in every detail of the evening.
