Delmanor Glen Abbey Residents Unwind with Tai Chi

A demonstration was held at Delmanor Glen Abbey for the seniors & guests to learn about the many benefits of the exercise, including concentration, balance & overall well being.
 
 
 
There were 20 participants in the demonstration that was partnered with the Colborne Centre. The seniors were unanimous in their decision to continue Tai Chi as a regular activity at the retirement community.

The Delmanor Northtown Pedal Pushers Support Heart & Stroke

The seniors of Delmanor Northtown gave their time and spirit to raise funds for the Heart & Stroke Foundation during the Big Bike Ride.

The retirement community eagerly prepared for ride by holding raffles and draws to raise awareness and monies for the charity. The seniors were ready to go as they hopped on the 27 seat bike and rode through the wet and rainy conditions.

The Pedal Pushers were delighted when the route was changed in the final moments and they were able to ride directly up Yonge St, past a crowd of supporters standing outside of Delmanor Northtown.

The seniors were glowing with pride and a sense of accomplishment when they completed the ride and rose $2,000 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Delmanor Northtown Residents Cool Off at the Lake

16 residents from Delmanor Northtown visited Lake Scugog for some sightseeing and a lunch cruise.

The weather was picture perfect for the seniors to enjoy a calm and peaceful cruise on the 2 storey sightseeing cruiser. The residents paused for a delightful summer lunch on board the cruise prior to moving to the observation areas to take in the breathtaking scenery.

All of the seniors had a wonderful and relaxing day and hope to return to the lake again soon.

"Tea-Time" at Delmanor Northtown

How many people know the difference between green, black, red, white & herbal teas? The residents, families and invited guests of Delmanor Northtown learned just that during "Tea Talk" with Orli Kohn.



Tea has many proven medicinal qualities. The seniors were taught about the health benefits of tea and how it has been said to improve ones quality of life. Orli Kohen is a tea connoisseur that has offered a variety of lectures at various venues including the Old Mill and other Retirement Communities.

Delmanor Glen Abbey Celebrate their Staff!

The entire Glen Abbey Staff were the focus of a day long event that was devoted to appreciating the staff that work so diligently for the residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey.
