Delmanor Elgin Mills Celebrates the Joy of Aging

Delmanor Elgin Mills, along with the Volunteer Association of York Central Hospital and Assante Capital Management Ltd., participated in an event at Copper Creek Golf Club that gathered women of all ages to discuss both the joys and challenges of aging.



The event featured a delightful breakfast, information booths, a silent auction, door prizes, and keynote speaker Susan Sommers.  All proceeds from the event were donated to York Central Hospital.

Delmanor Elgin Mills acted as a gold sponsor for the event that supported York Central Hospital and recognized the wonderful work of both hospital staff and volunteers.  Susan Applebaum & Jaimie Gatsos spent the morning meeting women of all ages and all walks of life, contributing to an event that honoured the spirit of women and recognized the challenges that are faced as one ages.

Delmanor Glen Abbey Raise Funds for the Oakville Hospital Foundation

Delmanor Glen Abbey raised funds and had a blast with a Monte Carlo Night that was attended by residents, family guests and the community.

The event included a roulette table, poker & blackjack tables, slot machines and a money wheel.  The guests had a fantastic time, especially in knowing that all monies raised went to this very valuable hospital.

Historic Toronto Coach Houses Come to Delmanor Wynford

Delmanor Wynford residents, and guests from the community were treated to an afternoon pictorial tour of historic Toronto coach houses.



Author Margo Salnek enlightened the guests to parts of Toronto that many were not aware existed.

Through Margo's detailed information and beautiful pictures, the guests and seniors learned of the importance of preserving Toronto's historic buildings as well as reflecting on years gone by.  The entire presentation was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance!

Living, Loving & Laughing at Delmanor Glen Abbey

The Living Well Lecture Series came to Delmanor Glen Abbey and taught the seniors how to look a the bright side of life.

135 people attended this popular lecture; due to the high interest in the event, the lecture portion was held in the Glen Abbey United Sanctuary.

The residents and guests were offered coffee and tasty desserts as Delmanor Marketing staff conducted tours of the residence to interested clients.

Delmanor Northtown Takes a Scenic Boat Cruise

Residents from Delmanor Northtown travelled to Orillia to board the fall colours boat cruise on Lake Couchiching.  The beauty of the fall season was captured with the majestic autumn leaves and their captivating reflection in the tranquil waters of Lake Couchiching.

Eleanor loves being out on the water. Having a cottage has been her family's tradition for many many years, so coming up and looking at other cottages on this cruise was definitely enjoyable for her.


"Orilla's Island Princess" cruise boat is a large double-decker riverboat style vessel with a four person crew.  Captain Tom was the tour guide while the residents sipped freshly brewed coffee and tasted warm baked treats.  The seniors listened to a narration on the history of the area along with more current information about the owners of the beautiful cottage properties that were visible from the boat.

Despite the damp fall weather, the residents enjoyed the time spent on the water and look forward to doing another trip in the fall seasons to come!

Wellness Fair Comes to Delmanor Northtown

The seniors of Delmanor Northtown were visited by community service groups, support resources and health professionals, that were joined together for Northtown's first Wellness Fair.

The residents and guests were able to visit over 15 exhibits and speak with health professionals about personal issues and gain useful tips for maintaining & improving health & wellness.

This first Wellness Fair at Delmanor Northtown was a great success!  The seniors all felt that they gained a lot of very beneficial information that will help to play an intricate role in their healthy & happy lifestyles.

Oktoberfest Comes to Delmanor Wynford

Delmanor Wynford residents  & staff dressed in their best Bavarian lederhosen and dirndls and enjoyed a wonderful Bavarian feast, followed by musical entertainment with the Oscar K. Quartet.  Residents were treated to German Beer and pretzels during the entertainment.

The Oktoberfest musicians were lively and very entertaining!  Residents and staff had a great time singing and dancing to the Bavarian music!  Dances included the polka and the chicken dance.  Everyone had a great afternoon with many laughs and lots of fun!

The Residents of Glen Abbey Visit St. Jacobs

Delmanor Glen Abbey visited the picturesque and historic town of St. Jacobs in early October for a wonderful kick-off to the fall season.

The warmth and traditional fare at the Stone Crock Restaurant gave the seniors the energy they needed for all of the activities that filled the exciting afternoon.

The residents were given the option to explore St. Jacobs on foot or to board the Delmanor Bus for a narrated tour of the nostalgic village with Abe, a member of the Mennonite Community.

Everyone had such a wonderful day at St. Jacobs that Part 2 has been planned to finish seeing all of the highlights that were missed in order to return to Glen Abbey in time for dinner!

Delmanor Glen Abbey Goes "Wild"!

Delmanor Glen Abbey residents and staff ventured to the African Lion Safari for a day of animal observations and safari tours.

The residents boarded the Delmanor bus and visited the park for a day filled with excitement and animal interaction.  Since the weather was cooler, it provided for greater activity from the animals and much more interaction and visibility for the seniors.

Mark, the Delmanor Executive Chef, prepared a delicious picnic lunch for the residents that was thoroughly enjoyed midway through their adventurous day.  The residents all enjoyed this excellent outing and captured many photos of the magnificent animals that were interacting in the open safari.

Delmanor Northtown Celebrate their 2nd Anniversary!

Delmanor Northtown celebrated their 2nd Anniversary on September 26th with approximately 300 guests in attendance!

Fall was in the air as the Delmanor Glen Abbey seniors celebrated Apple Fest on the peaceful courtyard.

The Residents & staff spent a lovely afternoon on the picturesque courtyard listening to the entertainment provided by Craig Ruhnke and soaking in the warm sun.

Delmanor Elgin Mills Enjoys a Vintage Car Show!

The weather could not have been more perfect for an afternoon car show and classic rock and roll performance at Delmanor Elgin Mills!

The Residents, staff and community members in attendance strolled around the 15 classic cars and reminisced about the many  memories that the vintage cars inspired.

Living Well Lecture Series – How to Live, Love and Laugh a Lot at Delmanor Northtown

Over 150 guests attended a seminar at Delmanor Northtown on how to live, love and laugh a lot, as part of the ongoing Delmanor Living Well Lecture Series.
Judy Suke, a motivational humorist, was the guest speaker and had the Northtown audience laughing out loud.
Judy had a very entertaining way of explaining how laughter helps to heal the body, soothe the soul, lift your spirits and give you energy.

The residents and guests were shown how to use laughter to face life on life’s terms, live in the present, control negative thoughts, reduce stress and protect self confidence.
The laughter and smiles continued into the Willowdale Lounge where the Delmanor chefs served a delicious assortment of desserts and refreshments.

This very popular event was thoroughly enjoyed by the many guests in attendance and left everyone in a very positive and happy place.
