Delmanor Elgin Mills Residents Visit the Sugar Bush

On a record breaking hot, sunny day in March, a group of Delmanor Elgin Mills residents ventured into the forest to participate in sap collection and maple syrup production.

The Delmanor seniors walked the trails, counted the spiles in the trees and tasted sap that had boiled over an open fire.

The group took a picturesque wagon ride through the 700 acre conservation area, and then dined on a homemade pancake lunch with freshly boiled maple syrup!

Although the weather felt more like July than March, the residents thoroughly enjoyed the age old tradition of making maple syrup.
