King Cake Creations at Delmanor Wynford

The long standing tradition of the King Cake was celebrated at Delmanor Wynford, as Mardi Gras season came to a close.

King Cake is traditionally adorned in purple for justice, green for faith and gold for power.  A sweet yeast cake, the King Cake is filled with cinnamon, cream cheese, occasionally pecans, but always with a little plastic baby tucked inside!  The baby signifies good luck – so of course everyone wants to find the baby in their piece of cake!  The Delmanor Decorators decided to place many babies in the cake, to ensure that everyone at Wynford has great luck, health and prosperity for the coming year!

Decorating the cake was the most fun – residents all pitched in to strategically place babies and shower the cake with sprinkles.   After distributing the Mardi Gras beads, the residents learned about the history of the beads, how they are tossed from the parade floats, and how the goal is to collect as many beads as possible!

Residents at Delmanor Wynford always enjoy learning something new and having a good laugh – the King Cake provided both for the residents, and they look forward to doing it again next year!
