Being a part of a community so rich
and diverse in culture, Delmanor Prince Edward chose to celebrate Indian
culture for a day; one of the many present in our communities today.
On a recent afternoon,
Diva Diverse put on a spectacular show for Residents and team members that was truly unforgettable! The performers dressed in bright, beautiful colours, and in
outfits that stayed true to the Indian culture and Bollywood entertainment we
see today. As they danced various styles of Indian dance including Bhangra,
Kathak, and many more, residents were able to join in and learn different moves
that were specific to those styles. The Old Mill Pub was filled with energy and
decorations that afternoon, but the celebration did not stop there!
In the evening, residents enjoyed
traditional Indian cuisine prepared by Prince Edward’s Culinary Team. The menu
included tomato shorba, vegetable samosa served with mint chutney, chicken curry
shrimp korma with biryani rice, raita and naan bread, and for dessert, gulab jamun
with vanilla ice cream. Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating Indian culture and food!
