Delmanor Glen Abbey Residents are "Cyber Seniors"!

The residents of Delmanor Glen Abbey recently welcomed the students from St. Mildred's Lightbourn School for a afternoon of "cyber education".

As part of the "Grads Give Back" volunteer program at St. Mildred's, approximately 30 students helped the Glen Abbey seniors familiarize themselves and become comfortable with their ipads, laptops and the internet.

Whether it meant setting up an email account, viewing photos online, creating a facebook profile, or for the more advanced users, Skyping.  The residents were very appreciative for this one-on-one coaching that left a lasting impression on both the students and teachers alike.  The extraordinary people from St. Mildred's have been amazingly helpful and patient.  A very grateful thank you to all of the volunteers for their time and excellent knowledge!

The inspiration for the program was a documentary simply known as "Cyber Seniors"; an in-depth look at the way technology and the web can bring people together, regardless of age and level of experience.  The Toronto Star recently featured an article on the Cyber Seniors  program that can be viewed by clicking the following link.
