Zeke O'Connor and the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation

Zeke O'Connor has been on many journeys throughout his life.  Zeke shared some of these adventures with over 65 residents and guests from the community that attended his lecture at Delmanor Prince Edward.

Zeke was a well known Canadian athlete who proudly scored the winning touchdown for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts in the 1952 Grey Cup.  Zeke moved on to climb Mount Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary and he shared some fascinating tales from this accomplishment with his audience.

Probably the most impressive achievement was becoming the founding president of the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation.  This Foundation enabled the Nepalese Sherpas to build 3 medical clinics and 17 schools over the past few decades, to establish literacy programs for women, and to spearhead a reforestation project that saw the planing of over 2 million seedlings over a 30 year span!

All of the Delmanor Prince Edward residents and guests had a wonderful afternoon listening to the interesting and inspiring stories from a fascinating man.
