Delmanor Wynford Remembers....

Delmanor Wynford residents, families, and staff were on hand to honour the 25 Veterans from Delmanor Wynford, as well as the veterans throughout Canada who sacrificed their lives in military service during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the Afghanistan Conflict, and peacekeeping missions.

The twenty-five Veterans at Delmanor Wynford were treated to a special Veterans Lunch in the Wynford Centre followed by a Remembrance Day Ceremony.

Residents, families, and staff were on hand to remember the sacrifices made by our veterans and those throughout Canada. A special Remembrance Day slide show was put together to honour the twenty-five Veterans of Delmanor Wynford and featured pictures of the Veterans, both past and present.

During the ceremony, selected Veterans recited Remembrance Day poems and shared their personal stories. Wynford Dining Room Supervisor, Pierre Hinds, who is also a Veteran, read a selected poem as well. It was an emotional day for all who attended.

The veterans were very pleased with the ceremony and were able to share their stories with each other and other residents. It was a great opportunity for residents and staff to learn more about the Veterans at Delmanor Wynford and honour their sacrifices. Lest We Forget!
