Delmanor Elgin Mills Residents Experience the Magic of the Monarch

The residents of Delmanor Elgin Mills, along with family and staff members, raised and released over 20 beautiful monarch butterflies into the wild.

Monarch butterflies face the staggering odds of only 1% survival rate in the wild, but when raised in a terrarium, they can reach survival rates of up to 99%!

The seniors fed milkweed and the butterflies grew and eventually cocooned into beautiful green chrysalis's.  Once emerged, the residents loved releasing them from their fingers into the open air.
