Despite the late spring weather, the Siony Srnka Hula Dancers paid a visit to Delmanor Glen Abbey to heat things up with their interactive hula dance show.
Siony's Dance Company has been preserving and sharing Hawaiian and Tahitian culture since 1978. Siony R. Srnka set up her dance school in the GTA to share her love of dance with as many people as possible.
Siony began her dance career at home in the Philippines. After immigrating to Toronto in 1973, she continued her dance teaching career and opened Siony's Dance Company. With great success and high demand for her live performances, she branched her school into a live show dance performance group that performs frequently on both sides of the border along with international audiences from her television network performances.
In recognition of the contributions made by Siony's Dance Company to Canadian multiculturalism, Siony was inducted into the top 100 most outstanding Philippino Canadians during a gala event at Queen's Park in 1999.
The Delmanor Glen Abbey seniors loved the performance from Siony's dancers and felt the contagious energy and tropical vibe.
