The Rogers Centre was not the only
place rockin’ in anticipation of the Toronto Blue Jays
Home Opener, Delmanor
Wynford residents and staff members were dressed in blue from head to toe!
Residents wore jerseys, vests, hats, and jewellery in support of our very own Toronto Blue Jays.

The
party started with a special lunch which mirrored menu items available at the Rogers Centre including Blue
Jays Soup, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, French Fries, and Cookies n’ Cream Ice Cream
with blue whipped cream and sprinkles. Following lunch, residents
enjoyed first class entertainment with former Blue Jays musician Mark
Kersey (Mark was the organist with
the Toronto Blue Jays for three years). Mark played guitar and accordion as
he sang a variety of high-energy tunes and baseball favourites while residents
enjoyed peanuts in the shell! Mark had the entire crowd energized and looking
forward to the game.

The
party continued while residents settled in to watch the first game of the
season on the big screen against the Cleveland
Indians. Residents could be heard cheering throughout the building!
Although the Toronto
Blue Jays were not able to come away with the win, the residents at Delmanor Wynford had a
fantastic time and are looking forward to the next game! It was wonderful to
see everyone come together to support our home town Toronto Blue Jays
and it was obvious that the residents truly enjoyed the sense of community that
was felt cheering for the Jays!
Go Jays Go!
