Delmanor Elgin Mills was one of two sponsors of the 'Sgt.
Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band' performance at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. The
evening began with a private reception for the lead sponsors and their
guests. Mayor David Barrow was present for the reception. Mayor Barrow was born
and raised in Richmond Hill and has been the Mayor of Richmond Hill since 2006.
The title of the performance, Sgt. Pepper, was the Beatles’ eighth studio album, released in 1967. The first half of the popular production featured such classic hits as “A Day in the
Life” “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “With a Little Help from My Friends.”
The second half of the performance was dedicated to the 'Best' of the Beatles. The crowd was captivated by the legendary songs that have spanned across generations.
The
Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is located on the former site of the old Town
Hall of Richmond Hill. The construction of the centre is the largest project
ever undertaken by the town of Richmond Hill. It was built in 2003, with
43,000 square feet of space. It is a multi-use cultural facility that was built on 1.5 acres of land
located directly on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill’s downtown core. The theatre is the largest of its kind in York Region with a full
hydraulic orchestra pit that has been host to countless events, productions and performances.
Delmanor Elgin Mills was thrilled to be a part of this wonderful tribute. Supporting local community and artistic events in Richmond Hill is very important to Delmanor Elgin Mills. They look forward to attending future events held at the Performing Arts Centre in the future.
