Everyone knows Dave Devall as the iconic weather reporter for the Toronto station CFTO-TV. Beginning his career in 1961, Dave has been and inspiration and pioneer for TV broadcasting and meteorology. Dave has likely been a part of your family's nightly routine for more than 48 years, there is however much more to Dave Devall than simply the weather.
Dave shared his very interesting life with Delmanor Seniors Communities in his 'behind the scenes' presentation as part of Delmanor's LivingWell Lecture Series. The seniors at all five Delmanor properties were given this unique inside look into Dave's exciting career both in front of and away from the camera.
While studying radio and television arts, Dave served on the RCAF where he also studied meteorology. This passion led Dave to receive the Guiness World Record for the longest career as a weather forecaster, quite an impressive accomplishment!
All of the Delmanor seniors were enchanted by Dave's wit and his fun and whimsical outlook on life. After the entertaining presentation, the residents and guests were invited to meet Dave personally and have a photo taken with him.
Since Dave's retirement in 2009, he has continued to give back to the community with extensive work for local charities including Dave's Golf Tournament, Toronto Humane Society and many more including inspirational talks such as the LivingWell Lecture Series Events enjoyed by Delmanor Seniors Communities.
