A local women's shelter was in dire need of support this year and with that information, the entire Delmanor Northtown community rose to the challenge with impressive results.
Christine organizing donations before delivery |
The "Delmanor Gives Back Initiative", as it became known around the residence, enabled the seniors to provide items to those in need of everyday necessities such as toiletries, pyjamas and clothing.
The charity drive took place from December 1-18 and the item drop off at the women's shelter took place on December 19th. All of the residents and family members of Delmanor Northtown were generous supporters of the gift giving drive. The drop off was made by residents Christine, Robert and Betty along with General Manager Robyn Knezic, Marketing Manager Nikki Lewis and Recreation Manager Robyn Stephenson.
The Delivery Team at the Women's Shelter |
The "Delmanor Gives Back Initiative" is proud to announce that through fundraising efforts at their holiday party and generous donations from residents and staff, they were able to present the North York Women's Shelter with over $1,000 in cash and gift cards, as well as three large collection bins full of greatly needed donation items to help to provide the women in need with a brighter and happier holiday season.
Way to go team Delmanor Northtown for making such a positive impact on those less fortunate during the holidays!
