The 'Great Gatsby Affair' at Delmanor Prince Edward

The residents and team members of Delmanor Prince Edward hosted The Great Gatsby Affair inspired by the literary classic, “The Great Gatsby”. The evening was filled with live jazz music and dancing central to the era of the roaring twenties. Residents and team members dressed the part in dazzling dresses and suits, feather boas and headbands with pearls and top hats, livening the atmosphere and truly making the party reminiscent of one hosted by the famous, Jay Gatsby.

The dinner selection included a Caesar salad, roasted red pepper soup, a choice between wild Atlantic Salmon and roasted turkey, both with a side of seasoned vegetables and mashed potatoes, and finished with a chocolate tart as a delicious dessert. Champagne was shared and the famous Mint Julep, a drink from the twenties, was featured on the drink menu for the evening.

With the Old Mill Pub completely decorated in gold, black, and silver, the three-piece jazz band, Jossy and the Band, played plenty of classic hits that had the audience out of their seats and singing along all throughout the evening!

The spirit and music of the one and only 'King of Rock n Roll' was celebrated at Delmanor Elgin Mills with a charismatic and energetic show performance by tribute artist Bruce Andrew Stewart.

Residents and guests were dazzled and amazed as they were taken back in time during the engaging and interactive performance.

Everyone at Delmanor Elgin Mills was up and dancing to some of the King's greatest hits.  The afternoon was a fantastic hit with the seniors and guests alike!

Delmanor's talented Corporate Chef, Divakar Raju, thrilled Delmanor Wynford's residents with his culinary creativity and artistic flair.  Chef Divakar crafted lovely edible bouquets of bok choy, Japanese radishes (Daikon) and vibrant carrots.

The incredible culinary skills of Chef Divakar are enjoyed by the Delmanor Wynford residents everyday during their meals.  This unique opportunity provided the seniors with a chance to witness some of Chef's extraordinary talents that he does not get the opportunity to show every day.

Residents, staff and guests feel very privileged to be able to enjoy Chef Divakar's creations at Delmanor Wynford.  With his vast background of experience that includes holding the position of Head Chef at the Hilton Hotel in Dubai, as well as in London, England, the Wynford seniors are treated to world class dishes in the comfort of their own homes.

The fruit carving exhibit was a very popular event with the residents.  With sweet fruit creations, the seniors felt the warmth of summer that is on its way, along with the delicious fruit carvings that were almost too beautiful to eat!

Spring Fashion Show at Delmanor Glen Abbey!

Spring Fashion is everywhere!  The residents and staff of Delmanor Glen Abbey celebrated spring in colourful fashion by inviting Zack's of Oakville Place to showcase their latest arrivals for the season.

Seven elegant models walked down the "runway" while the sold out crowd enjoyed the beautifully coordinated ensembles.  After the show, everyone had a wonderful time mingling over tea and sweets while discussing their plans to visit the Zack's store to check out the entire spring collection!

There is nothing quite like the feeling you get with a new outfit in fresh spring colours to brighten up your mood after a long cold winter!  The Delmanor Glen Abbey residents had a wonderful time at the fashion show and also the convenience of being able to shop right at home!

Richmond Hill Seniors Center Fashion Show

The Tan Jay Club 35 Fashion Show was a wonderful success!  The members of the Seniors Club 35 from the McConaghy Center in Richmond Hill were given the opportunity to model the beautiful summer fashions for all of the members and guests.

Delmanor Elgin Mills was very pleased to cater this event and to support other Seniors Clubs and events in their local community.

All of the models looked fabulous!  Everyone commented on what a nice venue and event the Fashion Show was.  Guests couldn't wait to try on and model their favourite outfits from the show!

Spring Daffodils and Raising Awareness at Delmanor Elgin Mills

The residents and team members of Delmanor Elgin Mills devoted themselves during the month of April to raise funds and spread awareness about cancer.  Along with the fundraising efforts, the seniors wore yellow pins for the entire month of April to show their support.

As almost everyone has been touched in some manner by cancer, selling & promoting beautiful daffodils to raise funds to fight the disease was an opportunity that the Delmanor Elgin Mills residents jumped to take part in.

On April 23rd, the entire retirement community was encouraged to wear yellow shirts and blue jeans to show their support.  An afternoon concert featuring the "Westenders" was a wonderful way to celebrate all of their hard work during the Daffodil Campaign.  Residents were dancing and singing to the lively music, celebrating their successes and the arrival of Spring.

Delmanor Elgin Mills residents and staff continually seek out opportunities to give back to their community.  The annual Daffodil Month commitment is just one of the many events held at Delmanor Elgin Mills where the seniors come together for a common cause, while having a great time participating with friends and neighbours.

Delmanor Northtown's Annual Spring Dance!

Delmanor Northtown has become very well known for their wonderful dances.  The annual Spring Dance featured the talented Northtown dancers twirling and spinning around the dance floor in the lovely Northtown lounge.

Dancing Like Stars!

The Delmanor Team put together another 5-star event with delicious hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, along with a wonderful 3-piece band that provided all of the music that had everyone up on their feet dancing like stars!

The Spring Dance, along with all of the dances at Delmanor Northtown, are very popular in the local community.  With it being such a popular event, the retirement community was able to sell tickets to guests and donate half of the proceeds to the "Delmanor Gives Back Initiative".
